GWM ranked among "2014 Forbes Global 2000"
On May 8, forbeschina.com released the "2014 Forbes Global 2000" list. Chinese enterprises claimed the top three places and five places of the top 10. Automakers including SAIC, Dongfeng and GWM made the list; GWM was ranked 840th, 117 places up from last year.
According to the report, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China topped the list for the second consecutive year, followed by China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China. 25 Chinese enterprises (including mainland and Hong Kong enterprises) were added to increase the total number of Chinese enterprises to 207 in excess of those from other countries.
In the auto industry, six Chinese automakers including SAIC, Dongfeng, GWM, BYD, Changan and GAGC appeared on the list. Among them, SAIC, Dongfeng and GWM were among the top 1000. Changan and GAGC made their debut. Japan's Toyota was ranked 12th, ahead of other automakers.
The "Forbes Global 2000" list was reportedly released for the first time in 2004 based on four indicators (sales, profit, assets and market value), weighted equally. The enterprises listed this year achieved total operating revenues of 38 trillion US dollars, a total profit of 3 trillion US dollars, total assets of 161 trillion US dollars and a total market value of 44 trillion US dollars.
